My god, are films always driven by so much planning? I feel like in order to make a film, the director has to already have a clear vision of every single scene and sequence prior to filming and of course know how exactly he/she will film it (e.g. where to stand, where to close in, etc.). So much planning! I prefer the spontaneity of photography…but maybe it’s because I’m much too inexperienced with directing and cinematography at this point to really do improvisational stuff.
