Drive’s intro is better than War House, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and The Help combined.
Haven’t seen Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (yet), The Help or War Horse, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Drive trumped them all. Many of the Oscar nominations this year disappointed me, or rather, I was disappointed that so many of the best films I saw that came out in 2011 didn’t make it on the list of Oscar nominations—take Drive as an example. But I guess it comes as no surprise since great films like Drive and Melancholia don’t really fit the Oscar formula.
